BSHS Year 5 · Optional creative writing
The Hidden Door
While an old noticeboard is being moved, somebody discovers a tiny door in the wall that nobody has noticed before. Write an imaginative story in which the discovery of the door is important to what happens. You may choose the characters, setting and events yourself.
Write a complete piece, rather than a list or plan. Time limit: 30 minutes. This is independent practice, not a statement of the official exam’s writing mode.
Practise here without an account. Your draft stays on this page and is cleared when you leave. You can also sign in to save an online response for a child.
Want feedback on your writing?
Have this response marked by a human for AUD $15. Receive rubric scores out of 25, highlighted comments, and clear strengths and next steps. Includes one marking of this saved response. Feedback is normally available within five business days.
Free practice does not include human marking. The adult managing your account chooses whether to purchase it.
